Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts Debussy’s only opera, Pelléas et Mélisande, at the Metropolitan Opera next week. This landmark score set in the mythical kingdom of Allemonde returns to the Met stage for the first time in almost a decade with performances on 15, 19, 22 and 25 January.
Yannick will also return to the Met later this season to conduct one of the most successful operas of the late 20th century, Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites. Yannick will lead the classic John Dexter production of the devastating story of faith and martyrdom with performances on 3, 8 and 11 May.
