The West Cork Chamber Music Festival 2016 opens this week, and once again features several AH artists.
Cédric Tiberghien and Alina Ibragimova return to beautiful surroundings of Bantry and are joined by Pieter Wispelwey and the Chiaroscuro Quartet.
Cédric will perform with other Festival artists in two concerts before performing Beethoven’s Piano Trio Op.97 the ‘Archduke’ with Alina and Pieter on Thursday. Pieter will also give a solo recital of Reger and Britten, as well joining other artists for music by Fauré.
The Chiaroscuro Quartet hold a series of masterclasses and concerts throughout the week, two of which will be broadcast live on Lyric FM; Monday 4 July 20:00 & Tuesday 5 July 11:00.

Tuesday 5 July – the Chiaroscuro Quartet perform Haydn Quartets – live on Lyric FM
Wednesday 6 July – Pieter Wispelwey and Cédric Tiberghien perform Fauré’s Piano Trio, alongside violinist Elina Vähälä, with Pieter also performing Schubert’s ‘Trout’ Quintet
Thursday 7 July – Alina Ibragimova, Cédric Tiberghien and Pieter Wispelwey perform Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B flat Op.97
Friday 8 July – Pieter Wispelwey performs works for solo cello by Reger and Britten
Friday 8 July – the Chiaroscuro Quartet perform Schubert and Beethoven Quartets
The Chiaroscuro Quartet give three masterclasses while in Bantry, two on Wednesday 6 July (morning and afternoon) and one on Friday 8 July.
