Fresh from concerts at the Aldeburgh Festival and with the NDR Hamburg, this week sees Vilde Frang make her debut with the Cleveland Orchestra. Performing Britten’s Violin Concerto in D minor, Vilde will be joined on stage by conductor John Storgårds at the Blossom Music Center this Sunday 15 July. Vilde then returns to the Verbier Festival to give four concerts, including: a performance of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 with Mark Minkowksi and the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante (24 July); with Tabea Zimmermann and Sir András Schiff (27 July); and a chamber recital with musicians including Lisa Batiashvilli and Daniil Trifonov, performing Trifonov’s own Piano Quintet (29 July). Vilde will also perform in the Festival’s 25th Anniversary Gala Concert on 25 July, alongside a phenomenal line-up of more than 30 international classical musicians including Martha Argerich, Renaud Capuçon, Seong-Jin Cho, Evgeny Kissin, Martin Fröst, Andrei Ioniță, Thomas Quasthoff, Sir András Schiff, Mischa Maisky, Leonidas Kavakos, Yuja Wang, Maxim Vengerov and Pinchas Zukerman. The remainder of this summer sees Vilde give concerts at the Salzburg Festival with the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Lawrence Power and Giovanni Antonini (11 & 12 August). She then joins the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and their Music Director Robin Ticciati on stage at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg (4 September) and the Queen Elisabeth Hall, Antwerp (9 September) to perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major.
