Fresh from a highly successful performance of Brahms Violin Concerto with the Tampere Philharmonic and Santtu-Matias Rouvali, this week sees Valeriy Sokolov join the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London. Performing Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2, Valeriy will be joined on stage by conductor Juraj Valcuha at the BBC Maida Vale Studios this Friday 12 October. The remainder of this month sees Valeriy travel to Japan to give two highly anticipated performances of Sibelius’ Violin Concerto with the New Japan Philharmonic under the baton of Hannu Lintu (19 & 20 October). He then returns to London to perform Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Lionel Bringuier at the Royal Festival Hall (30 October).
Other upcoming highlights include performances with the Bucharest Philharmonic, National Philharmonic of Russia, as well as debuts with the Oslo Philharmonic and Berlin Konzerthausorchester.
