Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, UK and Amsterdam
Jan 2017 - Jan 2017

In January 2017, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Chief Conductor Edward Gardner will embark on their first UK tour together.  Starting in Saffron Walden on 15 January, the orchestra will tour to Birmingham, Basingstoke, Sheffield and London, before a final concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on 22 January.

The concert programmes have strong Norwegian and British flavours, ranging from works by Grieg to Walton’s Symphony No. 1, with celebrated Norwegian cellist Truls Mørk set to join the tour to perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor. Additionally, the tour will feature soloists Leonard Elsenbroich (at Saffron Hall), Baiba Skride (at The Anvil, Basingstoke), and soprano Ann-Helen Moen (at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam).
