Orchestras

Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra

Introduction

Askonas Holt is delighted to be working with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Norway’s national orchestra.  Dating back to 1765, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the world’s oldest orchestras, and celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2015. In the same year, Edward Gardner became Chief Conductor of the orchestra.

January 2017 marked the start of Askonas Holt’s working relationship with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra with a successful five-date tour of the UK, culminating in a performance at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.  In August 2017 the Orchestra received 5* reviews all-round for their incredible performance of Britten’s Peter Grimes at the Edinburgh International Festival.

The Orchestra has recently returned from a successful five-date European tour; upcoming plans include a summer festival tour in August 2018.
