Mark Stone to make Berlin debut as Don Giovanni
Toi Toi Toi to Mark Stone who will soon make his debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the title role of Don Giovanni. This revival of the Roland Schwab production opens on 30th November and Mark looks forward to revisiting the role which he first performed the role at ENO to critical acclaim. In that production The Times described his Don Giovanni as ‘brilliant… a bundle of vicious sexual energy with charm and menace to spare’ and the Guardian hailed him as ‘the seducer to end them all’.
Beyond the Deutsche Oper, Mark’s plans on the operatic stage include his debut at the Cologne Opera as Il Conte in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, and returns to the Philadelphia Opera as Papageno, and to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in Britten’s anniversary year to sing the role of Mountjoy in Gloriana.
