The third edition of our magazine The Green Room is available to read as a digital publication now. Guest-edited by Business Development Manager, China Shiyi Wang, the issue has a China focus, featuring interviews with conductors Long Yu and Huang Yi, guitarist Xuefei Yang, violinist and new signing Ziyu He, and with our Tours & Projects department about their two-way relationship with mainland China .
In her editorial, Shiyi says, “In recent years, the rapid development of China’s economy and cultural market has attracted great attention from across the world: high-standard, professional and spectacular theatres can be found in each city, professional orchestras have been set up locally, world-renowned orchestras and top-level artists have visited China frequently… More and more, Chinese performing groups have been reinvented as cultural landmarks internationally, which serve as a symbol of increasing recognition of the Chinese cultural brand.”
Outside our focus, we have spotlights on Asmik Grigorian, who wowed audiences and critics alike as Salome at the Salzburg Festival, and Nicholas Carter, who begins his tenure in Klagenfurt, and Alisa Weilerstein talks about her new role as Artistic Partner with the Trondheim Soloists. Plus, Gaetan Le Divelec and Adam Gatehouse discuss The Leeds International Piano Competition, and the intricacies of managing a young artist’s career.
