Siobhan Stagg makes US opera debut as Cendrillon

Saturday evening sees Australian soprano Siobhan Stagg make her American debut with the Lyric Opera of Chicago in the title role of Massenet’s Cendrillon alongside Alice Coote as her Prince Charming. Following a season of significant debuts, Siobhan has already sung her first Mélisande Pelléas et Mélisande in her debut for Australia’s Victorian Opera, and next summer sees her Festival d’Aix-en-Provence debut in staged performances of Mozart’s Requiem. She will also sing Pamina, Gilda Rigoletto and Micaëla Carmen for the Deutsche Oper, Berlin.

Siobhan’s performances of Cendrillon will be conducted by Sir Andrew Davis in this classic staging by Laurent Pelly, most recently seen at the Metropolitan Opera, New York, and Royal Opera House, London. The performances take place on December 1, 5 & 8 and January 11, 17 & 20.
