Latvian conductor brings his Opera House alive with wonderful new production
Congratulations to Latvian conductor Ainars Rubikis and the Novosibirsk Opera House for three wonderful performances of Bernstein’s Mass.
The new production is a culmination of many months of intensive work from Rubikis and his team in Siberia. The spiritual setting and atmosphere in the work came alive on three consecutive nights, which was streamed LIVE across the world on ParaClassics. Second only in size to Teatro Colon in Argentina, Novosibirsk Opera House is a wonderful building at the centre of the city and these first performances attracted enthusiastic audiences, despite the severely cold temperatures in Russia.
Repeat performances are currently scheduled on 29 and 30 March 2013.
Far from the sub-zero temperatures of Novosibirsk, Ainars makes his debut with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra later this month, where they are enjoying one of the hottest summers on record!
