This weekend, Dovlet Nurgeldiyev, Oksana Volkova and Alexander Tsymbalyuk star in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at Staatsoper Hamburg.
Both Dovlet as Lensky and Alexander as Prince Gremin are favourites of Hamburg audiences; being current and former members of the house’s prestigious ensemble respectively. Oksana makes her house debut as Tatiana’s sister, Olga.
This classic production by Adolf Dresen, first shown in 1979, sees Christoph Gedschold lead the orchestra and chorus in Tchaikovsky’s best-loved opera.
There are four performances beginning 10 February and ending 22 February. For more information, visit the Staatsoper Hamburg website.
