Unfortunately she could not receive the award in person as she was on stage singing Fiordiligi in ‘Così fan tutte’ for Opera Australia, but in a recorded video Nicole said it was “such an honour and a thrill to have even been nominated” for the award. This award is recognition for the huge impact she has made in her home country. As recently as this spring she was wowing audiences and critics with her performances of ‘Luisa Miller’ in Melbourne. Europe prepares to welcome her again at the start of next season where she will sing Fiordiligi in a new production for the Deutsche Oper, Berlin (25 September – 14 October
) and at the Dresden Semperoper (12 – 25 November
). She then returns to Australia to sing Mimi.
