Released today on Seattle Symphony Media, Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony continue their exploration of French 20th century music, with this disc of two rarely recorded works by Olivier Messiaen. Offering an intimate view into the poetic and spiritual facets of Messiaen’s work, Trois petites liturgies de la Présence Divine alongside Poèmes pour Mi create an album with exceptional soundscapes and rich textures.
Ludovic and Seattle Symphony are joined on this release by soprano Jane Archibald, ondes Martenot player Cynthia Millar, tenor Michael Brown and the Northwest Boychoir.
This album is a continuation of Ludovic’s exploration into his fellow French countrymen’s repertoire and joins past Seattle Symphony Media releases of Dutilleux, Varèse, and Debussy.
