This week, Nathalie Stutzmann begins her tenure as Chief Conductor of the Kristiansand Symfoniorkester with a performance of Wagner’s Tannhauser Overture, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto (with Henning Kraggerud), and Brahms’ Symphony No. 2.
Highlights of her inaugural season with the orchestra include performance of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 7, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4; and collaborations with Francesco Piemontesi (Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5) and Ramon Ortega (Strauss’ Oboe Concerto).
Guest conducting highlights this season include return engagements with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, St Louis Symphony, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic and the National Symphony Orchestra Washington for a six-concert series.
