On 25 July the Mostly Mozart Festival gets underway, with Askonas Holt artist performances taking place across the month. Festival Music Director Louis Langrée will conduct a variety of concerts beginning with the Special Opening-Night Presentation, The Singing Heart; an evening of symphony and song. The concert will combine Mozart’s Haffner Symphony with a selection of folk songs and spirituals composed around the same time, concluding with a performance of Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, performed by the Young People’s Chorus of New York City who make their Mostly Mozart Festival debut. See a full list of Louis’ performances here.
Edward Gardner teams up with pianist Jeremy Denk and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra for a concert of Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert on 28 and 29 July. The programme will shift from dark to light, starting with Mozart’s Masonic Funeral Music in C minor before graduating to Beethoven’s Piano Concerto in No. 4 in G major and resolving with Schubert’s Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major.
The Mostly Mozart Festival season spans 25 July to 20 August 2017. For full listings of performances and more information, visit the Lincoln Centre website.
