Music Director Louis Langrée leads the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Karen Gomyo this weekend in a concert that forms part of the orchestra’s three-year Beethoven symphony cycle – Beethoven Revolution. A new Cincinnati Symphony world premiere commission by Pierre Jalbert opens the concert and is a modern-day response to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4. The Jalbert is followed by Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Karen, and the Beethoven closes the programme.
Following this visit to Cincinnati, Karen performs with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Esa Pekka Salonen on the 21 May, giving the world premiere of Mead Composer-in-Residence Samuel Adams’ Chamber Concerto for violin and chamber ensemble, written for her.
Concerts in Music Hall Cincinnati on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 April. Full details here.
