Yannick becomes Artist-in-Residence at Konzerthaus Dortmund
Following a sold-out concert by the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin at the Konzerthaus Dortmund last night, Artistic Director of the Konzerthaus Benedikt Stampa announced to the audience that Yannick is to become Artist-in-Residence from the 2013/14 season.
RWE, longtime main sponsor of the Konzerthaus, is going to support the exclusive residence titled ‘The YANNICK Experience’.
Yannick’s first appearance as Artist-in-Residence comes in September 2013, when he leads the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, of which he is Music Director, in an orchestral programme as well as a concert performance of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman. Subsequent projects include a Mendelssohn Zeitinsel festival with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in 2014/15, followed by a Bruckner cycle with the Vienna Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Dresden, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in 2015/16.
