Karina Canellakis embarks on European tour



This month sees Karina Canellakis return to Europe for a series of engagements in the UK, Germany, Holland and Scandinavia. These include debuts with the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester (21 – 25 February), the Bamberger Symphoniker (9 March) and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra at the Concertgebouw Hall, Amsterdam (18 March).

Her concerts with the Bamberger Symphoniker take place in Bamberg and Schweinfurt with an innovative programme of Messiaen, Haydn and Strauss, which will also be recorded for an exclusive production with Bayerichser Rundfunk.

Karina will also return to the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra (14 – 15 February) and to the the Danish National Symphony Orchestra (8 – 9 February) which she conducts for the first time since her outstanding performance in February 2016 as a last-minute step-in for Yuri Temirkanov.  This time she will conduct an eclectic programme of Mendelssohn, Hindemith, Schumann and Beethoven with violinist Frank-Peter Zimmermann.
