begins work on her third solo album for Deutsche Grammophon
: ‘Behind the Lines – 1914 – 2014’, soldier songs by composers including Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, Ives, Eisler and Liszt. Anna explains the concept behind the programme: “the fate of the soldiers themselves, their inner life, [as well as] the fate of the woman who waits for her soldier”.
The album is due to be released in June this year when the programme will tour to London, Paris, Vienna, Hamburg, Berlin, Dortmund and Munich, as part of the First World War centenary commemorations.
