Heath Quartet returns to the Wigmore Hall on 15 December to perform the Mendelssohn and Enescu String Octets, joined by violinists Anthony Marwood and Isabelle van Keulen, violist Lawrence Power and cellist Richard Lester. This concert also coincides with a series of concerts at the hall running through the season, in which they explore the quartets of Jörg Widmann. They take the complete cycle to Berlin in March for their debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal.
May and June 2018 will also see the quartet embark on a European tour performing the latest production by acclaimed director Calixto Bieito. Titled The String Quartet’s Guide to Sex and Anxiety, it explores the tempestuous relationship between sex, anxiety and music and features the quartet performing on stage alongside four actors.
