Elīna Garanča makes her role debut as Dalila at the Wiener Staatsoper



This weekend, Elīna Garanča makes her role debut as the eponymous femme fatale in Samson et Dalila at the Wiener Staatsoper. This eagerly-anticipated new production by Alexandra Liedtke of Saint-Saëns’s violent and erotic biblical epic, sees Elīna joined by Roberto Alagna as Samson. Marco Armiliato leads the chorus and orchestra of the Staatsoper.

Later this year, Elīna will open the season at the Metropolitan Opera, reprising the role of Dalila in a new production by Tony Award–winning director Darko Tresnjak. Watch Elīna, Darko and Roberto Alagna talk about the opera here.
