Audun Iversen makes house and role debut with Opéra de Paris

A twisted, brilliant, exciting, serious and comic opera all rolled into one, Benvenuto Cellini returns ‘home’ this month to the Opéra de Paris, where it was premiered over 150 years ago, with Audun Iversen as the villain Fieramosca.

Making both his house and role debut, this prestigious engagement in Paris comes in the middle of a busy season for Audun. Other notable performances include the title role Wozzeck at Den Norske Opera (Oslo), Enrico Lucia di Lammermoor at Opera Hedeland, as well as concerts with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra of Written on Skin, and at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

Directed by Terry Gilliam, and conducted by Philippe Jordan, Benvenuto Cellini opens at the Opera Bastille on Tuesday 20 March with subsequent performances on 23, 26, 29 March, 1, 4, 7, 11 and 14 April 2018.
