Askonas Holt welcomes violinist Ziyu He

We are delighted to welcome the outstanding young Chinese-Austrian violinist Ziyu He to our roster for general management.

Winner of the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg (2016), the Yehudi Menuhin Competition in London (2016), and Eurovision Young Musician (2014), Ziyu became one of the youngest soloists to make his debut with the Wiener Philharmoniker when he performed under Ádám Fischer at the Musikverein in 2017, aged just 18.

“[He] lets the artful dissonance flare perfectly, excels in trill figures, performs dance-like moments with airy elegance and allows the delicate phrases to melt away in a whisper”
translated from Kronen Zeitung Gesamt. Bartók Concerto No. 2 with Wiener Philharmoniker

The 2018/19 season sees Ziyu perform with Orchestra della Toscana, Zagreb Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony and the Wiener Kammerochester. He also gives recitals at the Konzerthaus Wien as part of their ‘Great Talents’ series, and is a member of Altenberg Trio Wien.

Ziyu began playing the violin in his native China at the age of five and, in 2010, he was invited by Paul Roczek to study with him in Salzburg at the University Mozarteum, where he continues his Masters studies with Benjamin Schmid.

Watch our video interview with Ziyu here.

Ziyu He will be represented at Askonas Holt by Olivia Lyndon-Jones.
