About Alexandros

Greek bass Alexandros Stavrakakis is the First Prize Winner of the 2019 International Tchaikovsky Competition, and is a regular guest at Semperoper Dresden, where his roles this season include Alidoro (La Cenerentola), Filippo II (Don Carlo) and Colline (La bohème) amongst others. This season he will make his debut at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris and will return to Bayerische Staatsoper, Schloss Elmau and the Semperoper.

In seasons past, Alexandros marked his house debuts at The Metropolitan Opera, New York, Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich, Opera National de Bordeaux, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, the Verbier Festival and Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.

Future seasons will see his return to Semperoper Dresden and Bayerische Staatsoper, as well as house debuts at Teatro del Liceu Barcelona, Houston Grand Opera and L’Opéra national de Paris.
