Alexandre Bloch named as Music Director of Orchestre National de Lille



Askonas Holt is delighted to announce the appointment of Alexandre Bloch as Music Director of Orchestre National de Lille from the beginning of the 2016/17 season.
Alexandre comments: ‘I am so thrilled and honoured to become the new Music Director of the Orchestre National de Lille, starting next September. It is a privilege for me to have the chance to work closely with the musicians of this orchestra, and I am very much looking forward to all the musical, cultural and social projects we will accomplish together in Lille and its region.’
Admired for his enthusiasm and energy, French born Alexandre Bloch became Principal Guest Conductor of Düsseldorf Symphoniker at the start of the 2015/16 season. He came to international attention as winner of Donatella Flick’s LSO Conducting Competition in October 2012, after which he was appointed Assistant Conductor at the London Symphony Orchestra. 
The current season includes Alexandre’s debuts with Oslo Philharmonic, Vancouver Symphony, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Nash Ensemble at the Wigmore Hall. He returns to Concertgebouw Orkest, Scottish Chamber, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBCNOW, Poznan Philharmonic, NWD Philharmonie and Australian Youth Orchestra. Future plans include engagements in mainland Europe and the UK, North America and the Far East and Australia.
