Ainars Rubikis makes his debut with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig this Saturday 25 November, conducting the orchestra in a special performance featuring percussionist Martin Grubinger in a programme of John Corigliano’s Conjurer Concerto for percussion and excerpts from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet ballet.
Part of the highly popular ‘Audio Invasion’ series which is in its eleventh year, the event will showcase the musical diversity of Leipzig across different genres. Throughout the evening over four floors of the Gewandhaus, there will be a unique experience, combining classical, popular and electronic music with a festival atmosphere. The focus of this 2017 event is on exciting newcomers – experimental music and new artists alongside established local and international figures and ensembles. More information on the concert here.
