Toi toi toi to Sophie Bevan who makes her role debut as Ilia in a new production of Mozart’s early masterpiece Idomeneo, for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Appearing as the pivotal Voice of Neptune is Graeme Broadbent, also in his role debut.
Sophie then continues this exciting season with a European tour of the Messiah with the OAE, before returning to the UK to give her first evening solo recital at the Wigmore Hall and to sing the role of Pamina for WNO. This is swiftly followed by a European tour of Bach’s St Matthew Passion and her season ends on the high note of her house debut at Glyndebourne Festival Opera in their new production of Handel’s Saul. Graeme will stay in London with the Royal Opera House, but will transfer to The Globe to perform in Kaspar Holten’s production of Cavalli’s L’ormino.
Toi toi toi to both artists!
