Details of the partnership’s first collaboration for Deutsche Grammophon were announced today

Details of Yannick Nézet-Séguin and The Philadelphia Orchestra’s first collaboration for Deutsche Grammophon were announced today.  The orchestra and its Music Director will be recording Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, which Leopold Stokowski premiered in the US with The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1922.  In addition to The Rite of Spring, the disc, due to released in Autumn 2013, also includes Stokowski transcriptions for full symphony orchestra of three of Bach’s most famous organ works as well as his transcription of Stravinsky’s ‘Pastorale’.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin comments, “This is a proud moment for me and for my Philadelphia Orchestra, to announce this project with Deutsche Grammophon in my very first year as music director!”
