World first for Alexander Vinogradov in one-of-a-kind music and film performance

This Friday, Alexander Vinogradov will be taking part in a one-of-a-kind music and film event, as part of Musikfest Berlin. Alexander will join Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, conducted by Frank Strobel, to perform Prokofiev’s ‘Ivan the Terrible’, set for the first time to the original film by Sergei Eisenstein which has been specially restored to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Prokofiev’s birthday.

This comes at the beginning of an exciting season for Alexander, with other concert highlights to include ‘Songs and Dances of Death’ with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra (27 October), Verdi’s ‘Requiem’ with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Vasily Petrenko, April 2017), Mozart’s ‘Requiem’ with the Orchestre National de France at the Festival of St Denis, and Shostakovich’s 13th Symphony with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège (February 2017).
Forthcoming opera appearances for Alexander include ‘Coq D’Or’ at the Teatro Real Madrid (with Iurii Samoilov, May 2017), ‘Guillaume Tell’ (with Christina Gansch, March 2017) and ‘Macbeth’ (with Dovlet Nurgeldiyev, March 2017) at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, and multiple returns to the Bolshoi Theatre for numerous productions: ‘Viaggio a Reims’, ‘Le nozze di Figaro’, ‘La Damnation de Faust’ and ‘Carmen’ (various dates).
