Wardsbrook Concert Series

Wardsbrook Concert Series has been established by Askonas Holt artist, Toby Spence, and his brother Magnus in order to raise funds for the acclaimed St. Michael’s Hospice in Hastings. The concerts will be held in a timber-framed barn dating from the Tudor period which was restored by the current owners in 2012. A perfect and intimate space for song recital.

On Sunday 23 June, Christiane Karg – taking time out from the final rehearsals of Hippolyte et Aricie at the Glyndebourne festival, her Glyndebourne debut,  will give the final concert in the inaugural series of recitals in the barn at Wardsbrook. Christiane gives us a recital of Wolf, De Falla, Duparc and Britten

This exciting new recital series has featured, in it’s first season, artists of the calibre and renown of Sarah Connolly, Sir Thomas Allen and Stephane Degout -and with two Askonas Holt pianists, Malcolm Martineau and Joseph Middleton.

The public response to this ambitious first series has been enormous and the second season is currently being programmed.
