Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of  Gustavo Dudamel, its principal conductor from the 2007/8 season, opened the St Denis Festival in Paris on 4 June 2007 with soprano Measha Brueggergosman. On the same tour the orchestra also performed in a special concert in front of an invited audience to test the acoustics in the yet to be open Royal Festival Hall in London, becoming the first guest orchestra to perform in the hall.
