The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela under Gustavo Dudamel will undertake a very special project in March 2017, presenting full Beethoven cycles in some of Europe’s most iconic concert halls.
The tour will start in Barcelona, where the Palau de la Música will once again host the orchestra. They will then travel to Hamburg, where they will perform the first full Beethoven cycle at the new Elbphilharmonie and the tour will finish with a final cycle at Vienna’s Musikverein.
For the Beethoven Symphony No. 9 performances, the orchestra will be joined by the Orfeo Catala and the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, by the young EuropaChorAkademie in Hamburg and by the Wiener Singverein in Vienna.
Alongside the performances, the Bolívars will engage in a range of education and community activities to leave a lasting legacy to this unique tour.
