Orchestras

Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks

Introduction

Soon after being founded by Eugen Jochum in 1949, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks developed into an internationally renowned orchestra, its fame ongoingly expanded and fortified by its intensive touring activities. The orchestra owes its extraordinarily wide repertoire and sound spectrum to the programme preferences of its previous chief conductors as well as to the great flexibility and solid stylistic security of each individual musician.

Askonas Holt is pleased to have worked with the Orchestra recently on a number of major tours, including visits to Ireland, Korea and South America with their Chief Conductor Mariss Jansons and an Asian tour in 2012 under the baton of Daniel Harding.

We look forward to working with them again for future projects.
