Thomas Søndergård’s stunning start to the season

Danish Conductor begins his new partnerships with both BBCNOW and RSNO

Congratulations to Thomas Søndergård who has enjoyed a truly wonderful start to the 2012/13 season, including his hugely successful debut with Seattle Symphony, touring with Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and his inaugural concerts as both Principal Conductor of BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Principal Guest of Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Audience and critics alike have been enraptured by his performances of no fewer than three Sibelius symphonies across the month of October. His most recent concert with RSNO (Glasgow, 27th October) was hailed a triumph.  A review can be read here.

Thomas returns to Glasgow to conduct Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique next month and then dives into his beloved world of opera with The Cunning Little Vixen at Royal Danish and Turandot (with Nina Stemme) at Royal Swedish Operas.
