Thomas Søndergård new Principal Guest Conductor at RSNO

He will take up the position from the 2012/13 season

Askonas Holt is delighted to announce Thomas Søndergård has accepted the position of Principal Guest Conductor at Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) with effect from 2012/13 season for an initial period of three years.

Søndergård will remain Principal Conductor and Musical Adviser of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra until the end of the 2011/2012 season and, most unusually in the UK, will then hold his RSNO title concurrently with that of Principal Conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

He conducts RSNO on Friday 21st October (Edinburgh) and Saturday 22nd (Glasgow) in a colourful and varied programme of Ravel, Haydn and Prokofiev.
