Thomas Søndergård makes debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra



Last night, 6 April, Thomas Søndergård made his debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, with a further performance taking place tomorrow night (8 April). The programme includes Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with Francesco Piemontesi, Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1 and ‘Perpetual Summer’ by Kati Agocs. 
Mo Søndergård is mid-way through a three-week visit to the United States, which includes performances with the Atlanta and Houston Symphony Orchestras. In Atlanta Mo Søndergård returned to conduct a French programme including Debussy’s ‘La Mer’, and Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand with French pianist Alexandre Tharaud. 
Next week he travels on to Houston to conduct Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7 and Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 with Karen Gomyo as soloist. Performances in Houston take place at Jones Hall on 14, 16 and 17 April.
