The Telegraph’s New face: Soraya Mafi

Last summer Soraya Mafi made her triumphant professional debut singing the role of Soeur Constance in Dialogue des Carmelites for the Grange Park Opera, receiving glowing reviews in the press and very much proving herself to be a ‘young singer of real promise’ (George Hall, Opera Magazine). This week Soraya returns to Grange Park as First Niece in Peter Grimes, and looks forward to an exciting season ahead which will include her debut at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris as Aminta in Il re pastore, and for the English National Opera in Pirates of Penzance. Rupert Christiansen highlights the soprano as a ‘New Face’ to watch out in The Telegraph this week, describing her journey into the world of opera. Click here for the full article.
