Sokhiev triumphs in LSO debut

Many congratulations to Maestro Tugan Sokhiev, who made a triumphant debut with the London Symphony Orchestra last night. The orchestra was on fine form in a sparkling programme of Messiaen’s Les Offrandes oubliees, Tchaikovsky’s infamous Symphony No. 4 and Bartok’s Violin Concerto no. 2 with Latvian violinist Baiba Skride.
Maestro Sokhiev is Music Director of Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse (ONCT) and Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. In January 2014 he was appointed Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow with immediate effect and is in demand from leading opera houses and orchestras worldwide.
