René Barbera makes his Deutsche Oper Berlin debut in Donizetti’s ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’



This week, René Barbera makes his debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, performing the role of Edgardo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. He is joined by Noel Bouley as Enrico, Pretty Yende as Lucia, Attilio Glaser as Arturo, Marko Mimica as Raimondo, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya as Alice, Jörg Schörner as Normanno and the Chorus and Orchestra of the Deutschen Oper Berlin, conducted by Ivan Repusic. This marks the first in a number of exciting house debuts for René this season, which include the Bayerische Staatsoper as Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, and the Teatro alla Scala Milan as Ernesto in a new production of Don Pasquale conducted by Riccardo Chailly. Other highlights of his 2017/18 season include L’italiana in Algeri in Teatro Verdi Trieste, Il Pirata in Opéra National de Bordeaux, and a return to the Opéra national de Paris as Il Conte d’Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia.
