Peter Rose and Catherine Wyn-Rogers return to the Royal Opera House for ‘Der fliegende Holländer’

Peter Rose returns to Covent Garden as Daland at the start of what is going to be a very busy period for him. After this ‘Dutchman’ he goes to Baden-Baden to give his definitive Ochs under Sir Simon Rattle combining this with Osmin at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. He then sings Fasolt in Das Rheingold, again with Sir Simon Rattle in Munich and later at the Wiener Staatsoper before reprising Daland with the Budapest Festival Orchestra in June.

Catherine Wyn-Rogers is a regular guest of the Royal Opera House, and returns here to sing the role of Mary in Der fliegende Holländer for the first time. Last season, Catherine made her debut with the Metropolitan Opera as Adelaide in Arabella, and 2014/15 is also a season of major house debuts including for Glyndebourne Festival as Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia and for Paris Opera in Moses und Aron; together with a long list of concerts, including with the Melbourne Symphony, Liverpool Philharmonic and at the Edinburgh Festival with Sir Andrew Davis.
