On Tour this month – Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela & Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras



This month, we’re delighted to be bringing both the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela to Europe, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops Orchestras to Asia.

Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Beethoven Cycles in Barcelona, Hamburg & Vienna with Gustavo Dudamel
12 – 30 March 2017

The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela will perform full Beethoven cycles in some of Europe’s most iconic concert halls; Barcelona’s stunning Palau de la Música, Hamburg’s new Elbphilharmonie, and Vienna’s iconic Musikverein. The orchestra will be joined by the Orfeó Català and the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música in Barcelona, by the young EuropaChorAkademie in Hamburg and by the Wiener Singverein in Vienna.

Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra & Cincinnati Pops Orchestra in Asia with Louis Langrée, Alexander Gavrylyuk, John Morris Russell & Cho-Liang Lin
17 – 26 March 2017

This tour marks the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops Orchestra’s first international tour since their tour to Japan in 2009.

Performing concerts in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and their Music Director Louis Langrée will be joined by pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk and organist Anne Lam. Alexander performs George Gershwin’s American classic, Rhapsody in Blue in a programme that also features Ives and Ravel. With concerts in Shanghai, Tainan and Taipei, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will perform a programme entitled Hollywood Action & Adventure, conducted by John Morris Russell and featuring violin soloist Cho-Liang Lin.
