Oliver Johnston will make his BBC Proms debut on Saturday 10 September, at the Last Night of the Proms. We asked Oliver how he felt about his first appearance at the festival…
“Having been born and raised in London, it is a dream come true to be making my Proms debut, especially on the last night. The Proms are such an important part of the year for London and they draw broadcasters, concert goers and artists from all over the world. For me, this international diversity, under the roof of one of Britain’s most historically rich buildings, totally captures what London is all about. As a singer, it’s amazing to see the power that music has to unite people from all over the world. I feel so privileged to be a part of this, and to perform one of my favourite pieces of music with such amazing artists. I’m so excited to get in the hall and absorb the atmosphere of one of the most spectacular nights of the year!”
Oliver Johnston joins a hand-picked selection of young singers for Vaughan Williams’ ‘Serenade to Music’ at the Last Night of the Proms on Saturday 10 September.
