Markus Werba's Impressive Debut as Figaro

Markus Werba made a hugely impressive return to the Vienna State Opera last week, performing the title role in their production of Le nozze di Figaro, directed by Jean-Louis Martinoty and conducted by Jérémie Rohrer. Der Standard in particular noted the fine performance that Markus gave, in what was the first appearance for him in this role. These performances mark the beginning of an exciting season ahead, including further shows in Vienna (Die Fledermaus and L'elisir d'amore), Don Giovanni in Turin and for the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, and his first Beckmesser (Die Meistersinger von Nürnburg) for the Salzburg Festival.
