We are delighted to welcome Russian baritone Ilya Kutyukhin to our roster for general management. Currently a member of the Salzburg Young Singers Project, Ilya was previously a member of the Young Artist Program of The Bolshoi Theatre where he studied with Dmitry Vdovin. During his time in the programme, he performed in chamber music concerts with Ivari Ilja, Liubov Orfenova, Semyon Skigin and Giulio Zappa as well as in the concerts of the Young Artists Program of the Bolshoi Theatre at Opéra de Toulon, Opéra de Nice, Opéra de Lille, and Théâtre du Châtelet.
Upcoming engagements include at the Salzburg Festival where he will appear in both a new production of Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk conducted by Mariss Jansons, in concert performances of Lucrezia Borgia conducted by Marco Armiliato, and in a Young Singers Project concert on 26 August. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Ilya will make his debut with Glyndebourne on Tour as Guglielmo in Nicholas Hytner’s classic production of Così fan tutte, conducted by Leo McFall and with Kirsten MacKinnon in the role of Fiordiligi.
