A 17-part series began on BBC Radio 3 on Friday (18th July), launched by Clemency Burton-Hill and featuring the accomplishments of recent studio recording sessions of BBC NGA scheme artists. Current New Generation Artists from the Askonas Holt roster include Ukrainian soprano, Olena Tokar, who continues on the scheme into the 14/15 season, and Irish tenor Robin Tritschler. Both artists can be heard in the series of shows which unfold throughout the summer. Tune in to the evening show at 9.15pm tomorrow (Wednesday 22nd July) to hear Robin, accompanied by pianist Christopher Glynn singing a selection of Morike lieder by Wolf and on the same show Olena singing a selection of Brahms songs, accompanied by Igor Gryshyn on piano.
- Sunday 3 August, 7.30pm: Olena Tokar sings songs by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov
- Sunday 17 August, 11.40pm and Friday 29th August, 9.30pm: Robin Tritschler sings repertoire by Strauss and Wolf.
- Sunday 7 September, 7pm and 11.45pm: Robin Tritschler sings Britten’s Songs for the Chinese and Tippett’s ‘Boyhood’s end’
Esteemed pianists James Bailleu, Joseph Middleton and Graham Johnson can also be heard in this series of programmes accompanying other BBC NGAs.
