Mazzola and Werba at Orchestre National d’Ile de France’s 40th

Congratulations to Enrique Mazzola and Markus Werba who enchanted the packed audience at Salle Pleyel, Paris yesterday afternoon.
The special concert celebrated 40 years of l’Orchestre National d’Île de France where Maestro Mazzola is Music Director. Those lucky enough to secure a ticket were treated to a ravishing Mahler Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen sung flawlessly by internationally-celebrated bass-baritone Markus Werba and the concert ended with a thrilling performance of Stravinsky’s Firebird (1945). The hall sparkled–quite literally–with lights and balloons throughout and, in a fitting finale, the delighted audience sang a rousing rendition of ‘Joyeux Anniversaire’ to the beaming orchestra.
Bravo tutti–here’s to the next 40!
