Maestro Sokhiev’s Marching ahead

A wonderful month of music ahead for Maestro Sokhiev: 1 March he conducts Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse at the Musikverein in a concert performance of Massenet’s Don Quichotte featuring Ferruccio Furlanetto and Anna Kiknadze, before he comes to UK for concerts in Cambridge (4 March) and at the Royal Festival Hall, London (5 March, matinee) with the Philharmonia Orchestra including Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 (Pathétique).

He returns to Moscow for three consecutive performances of Shostakovich’s Katerina Ismailova (7-9 March) before bringing the Chorus and Orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre to France for concerts in Toulouse (15th) and at the Philharmonie de Paris (17th) for performances of Tchaikovsky’s rarely-performed masterpiece Jeanne d’Arc.
