Soprano Louise Alder has won the inaugural OMCT’s Young British Soloists’ Competition.  Her programme of Fauré, Wolf, Liszt and Bridge wowed the prominent panel of judges at the competition final at the Wigmore Hall on 26 June, and her prize is to record a fully funded album on Orchid Classics.  After the announcement was made, Louise said, ‘I feel completely elated to be afforded the opportunity to make a disc. It’s always a joy to perform at Wigmore Hall – and in front of such a distinguished panel and with such a wonderful pianist, Joseph Middleton.’  Bravo Louise !
