Kristian Bezuidenhout begins his 2017/18 season as Principal Guest Director of The English Concert

The English Concert open their 2017/18 season on 14 September with their new Principal Guest Director, Kristian Bezuidenhout, at London’s Wigmore Hall. Kristian will direct the ensemble from the fortepiano in a programme which features him as soloist in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 13 K415; symphonies by Haydn and Mozart and a sinfonia by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. More details here.

Kristian will rejoin the English Concert later in the season for a concert including some cornerstones of the Baroque era (Bach’s The Art of Fugue and Harpsichord Concerto in D minor) alongside some lesser known gems by Handel and Telemann.

This season, Kristian has also taken up the post as one of the Artistic Directors of the Freiburger Barockorchester, a role he will maintain for the next 3 years, directing them in several projects each season.
