Just what the doctor ordered!

Toi toi toi to Jonathan Lemalu who makes his role debut on Thursday 7 July as the itinerant ‘doctor’ Dulcamara in Donzetti’s comic opera ‘L’Elisir d’amore’ at the Oper im Steinbruch in Austria. Set in the glorious surroundings of an UNESCO world heritage site, Andrei Bondarenko will sing the role of Belcore in the other of the two alternating casts. You can view some behind the scenes footage of rehearsals here and selected production images here
The new season then sees Jonathan return to Austria, to Vienna, to employ his immense comedic talents once again, but this time singing the downtrodden Leporello in the Theater an der Wien’s production of ‘Don Giovanni’, conducted by Ivor Bolton and directed by Keith Warner.
‘L’Elisir d’amore’ runs at Oper im Steinbruch until 19 August 2016. For more information, visit the Oper im Steinbruch website. Andrei and Jonathan will sing two performances in the same cast – Thursday 14 July and Friday 12 August 2016.
Toi toi toi to all involved!
